Letter from the Minister
Five generations of Florida State University students have been calling the Presbyterian University Center (PUC) home. Rooted in the Reformed Christian tradition, PUC greets and offers hospitable welcomes to scores of young women and men awakening to adulthood during their years as FSU students. Centered in Jesus Christ, our ministry provides a firm if not indispensible foundation for young adults’ healthy social, vocational, moral and spiritual development.
Christian faith is particularly adept to facilitate young peoples’ quests for meaningful responsibility, vocational discernment, enduring relationships and worthwhile personal goals. Our ministry stands ready to support students in their journey toward the wholeness and joy that God intends. Our various ministries and programs present a broader landscape where students can ask life’s bigger questions and reflect critically and constructively. PUC supplies a healthy, alternative community especially available at a large state and public university. PUC is space for grace!
The Listening Point, PUC’s weekly supper and devotional gathering, is our principal portal for student involvement. Apart from excellent, home-cooked meals and fellowship, these meetings include topical discussions and speakers, student-led activities, recreation, and devotionals. Weekly Bible studies occur over meals throughout the year also. PUC sponsors weekend retreats and socials, football game tailgating, Sunday visits with Presbyterians for worship, annual Montreat Collegiate Conference participation, and Spring Break Mission Trips.
We invite your inquiries about our ministry as genuinely as we welcome your participation with us.
